When Your Body Can’t Keep Up With Your Purpose (And What to Do About It)
We’ve all felt it. That specific, heavy kind of exhaustion that a weekend of sleep can’t fix.
For the high-achieving women I coach, this burnout usually isn’t because they lack ambition or "grit." In fact, it’s often the opposite. They have plenty of purpose—they are building businesses, leading families, and creating meaning—but their bodies have stopped feeling like partners in that success.
They’ve been trying to prove their worth through output, while their nervous system is quietly asking for a partnership.
The Myth of "Pushing Through"
In our hustle-heavy culture, we’re taught that if we’re tired, we just need more discipline. We start another "reset" on Monday, cut out more food groups, or try to squeeze in a 5:00 AM workout that leaves us even more depleted by noon.
But here is the truth: A meaningful life isn’t something you use to prove you are valuable. It’s finding the value where you are right now.
If you feel like you’re constantly "starting over" with your health, it’s rarely a discipline problem. It’s a design problem. When your system is broken, it doesn’t matter how hard you push; you’ll eventually hit a wall.
Shifting from Proving to Aligning
After 14 surgeries and my own journey through cancer recovery, I realized that I couldn’t "hustle" my way back to health. I had to stop asking, "What do I need to achieve next?" and start asking, "Where can I stop proving—and start aligning?"
When you fix the system, you free the person.
